The Petite Saulire loop – Meribel

A magnificent hike in the heart of the Parc de la Vanoise and the Lac du Tueda reserve. 

It’s a 14 km loop via the Col du Fruit. 

Set off on a day’s excursion that will allow you to discover a magnificent landscape and one of Méribel’s most emblematic peaks.

Park at the large Mottaret car park, which gives access to Lac de Tueda.

Cross the Lac de Tueda plateau and follow the signs to the Refuge du Saut.  

Keep your eyes peeled for marmots!

You’ll walk alongside the Dorons des Alpes stream, which keeps you cool. 

After a climb along a dirt track, you will come to a pretty plateau where you can see the ruins of old sheepfolds. 

You’ll see a signpost and follow the signs for the Col du Fruit. 

Once you reach the top, you’ll have a magnificent view of Mont Blanc and numerous glaciers. 

You can also see the famous Courchevel ski area.  

Continue along the ridges to La Saulire for 1.30 hours. 

 At Saulire, you can take the Pas du Lac cable car back down free of charge in summer, or you can continue on foot to Mottaret.
